The terms, in plain english.

// 01 The basics

"Hitlooper" is the platform operated by hitlooper, a Delaware entity. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

You must be at least 18 years old. One account per builder. Don't share credentials. Don't create fake accounts. Don't impersonate other people or companies.

// 02 How the loop works

The platform is a reciprocal work-exchange marketplace. Requesters post projects and pay a refundable deposit. Hitloopers claim projects, perform the work (recorded on video), and submit a structured deliverable. The platform settles each accepted project by paying the Hitlooper deposit minus 15% and opening a 30-day reciprocity window for the requester. If the requester reciprocates by completing equivalent work as a Hitlooper within 30 days, the platform refunds them deposit minus 15%. If they don't, the window closes and the deposit pays the original worker.

// 03 Fees + payments

The platform fee is 15% of the deposit on every accepted project. That fee is non-refundable except where the platform fully refunds the deposit (dispute resolved for requester, project expired with no claim, or pre-claim cancellation). Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe (including Stripe Connect Express for Hitlooper payouts). You agree to Stripe's terms in addition to these.

// 04 Refunds + reciprocity

Refund eligibility is determined by the mechanics described above and detailed in our protocol page. The reciprocity window is exactly 30 days from the moment a project is accepted. It cannot be extended, paused, or transferred between projects.

// 05 Content + ownership

You own what you bring. Requesters retain all rights in their product, their materials, and the underlying information shared with a Hitlooper. Hitloopers retain rights in their own observations, transcripts, and deliverables — Hitlooper.com is paying for the session, not buying work-for-hire output. Both parties grant the platform a limited license to host, transcribe, score, display, and audit the recording and deliverable for the purpose of running the loop.

When you toggle "NDA required" on a project, the mutual NDA at /nda-template governs the disclosure between requester and Hitlooper.

// 06 Prohibited use

Don't post or claim projects involving: illegal activity, harassment of any person, malware or phishing, content involving minors in inappropriate contexts, content the requester doesn't have rights to share, or anything Stripe's acceptable-use policy prohibits. Don't use the platform to scrape other users' data, spam them, or attempt unauthorized access to systems.

// 07 Disputes + settlement

Disputes are resolved per the policy at /dispute-policy. Outcomes are binary (full refund or full release). Reputation changes are calculated by the rules listed there. The platform's decision on any dispute is final for the purposes of the deposit settlement, though either party may pursue their own remedies outside the platform.

// 08 Account termination

You can delete your account at any time via the contact form. We may suspend or terminate accounts for: violations of these terms, repeated lost disputes (per the dispute policy), payment chargebacks without prior contact, or court order. We will not terminate an account in the middle of an open project without first resolving the project's settlement.

// 09 Liability + warranty

The platform is provided "as is." We do not warrant any specific outcome from a project — only that we'll run the loop as described. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of your use of the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the platform fees you've paid us in the prior 12 months, or (b) USD $100.

// 10 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes between you and the platform are resolved exclusively in Delaware state or federal courts.

// 11 Changes

We may update these terms. Substantive changes (anything affecting deposits, fees, dispute outcomes, refund eligibility, or ownership) will be announced via email to your account address at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the new version. The current version is always at /terms.
